CHRISTMAS AND CHANEL

Twas twelve days before Christmas and a chic minimalist decided its time for a pre-Christmas chic show and tell.  I utilize my Chanel collection immensely this time of year since the holidays are a perfect excuse to dress smart and chic for every day.  Also, Christmas of course only comes once a year so might as well live it up darlings!

NOEL DECOR AND A CHIC ENSEMBLE

Joyeux Noel mes amies, the coutdown is on, 25 days to be exact!  This is my favourite time of year and seeing how its the first of December its time to decorate. I helped a friend with their decor for the holidays. Lets take a peek as a chic minimalist gets to work.  Stay tuned for a little chic ensemble at the end!

P.S. A few side notes:  The tree décor is a bit too contemporary for my tastes. I prefer simple champagne, gold, white, cream, black, and red accents.  My style will be revealed as the weeks unfold to that special time of year being Christmas. So stay tuned over the next twenty-five days!  xxx

These gold decorations are so lovely especially the mini tree!

Voila my work is complete, although the tree is very contemporary it suits my friend's tastes.  Personally I would opt for something more classic, with less peacock feathers. To each one''s own as all I can really say. I do appreciate when someone has a personal style even if it is dissimilar to mine.

LA FEMME NOIR

Happy Sunday mes amies, hope you are nice and cozy.   This weekend marked our first snowfall (well in my area at least) its hard to believe its come so early.  It is week till December just yet! However it is never too early for a style share, thus thought you might enjoy a peek at my favourite cozy enesmble.  I always gravitate towards chic and simple turtle-neck sweater dresses such as this black Wolford one, as the weather begins to chill this holiday season!  It is indeed the perfect LBD companion for any cold winter's day to keep you warm, cozy, and chic.

KISSABLE ROSE LIPS

Happy Sunday mes amies hope you are nice and cozy with someone dear to you!  Time is moving so quickly these days as it is hard to believe November is nearly finished, and soon it will be 2013.  

Before we think so far ahead lets enjoy the moment, and if you are with someone special soon, I recommend trying the following luscious lips combination for a sumptuous pout!

Step One: 

Line your lips with a Chanel Le Crayon Levres in the shade Rose Corail. After which apply some

             Burt's Bees lip chap to ensure you lips are well moisturised. 

Step Two:

Apply Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick in shade 66 Confidentielle to your lips and finish with a Chanel

            Rouge Allure lip gloss in shade 67 Caprice.  Be sure to blot the access off with a tissue and voilà 

            you have some lovely and luscious kissable rose lips.

EFFORTLESS ELEGANCE

Shorts in winter can be made elegant yet effortless when paired with simple black opaque tights and heels. 

I adore these chic navy blue check Chanel shorts with the couture element of hand sewn clear sequins. The shorts are quite dressy but if you pair them with a simple t-shirt, such as the blue pima cotton Eli Tahari one shown below, they become quite casual and chic!  Please ladies always remember to opt for black or navy opaque tights with shorts, as the look becomes OTT (over the top) if paired with patterned or nude stockings (especially with heels)!

A Chic Minimalist was spotted with a 1920s flapper at a Halloween costume party last night! 

This year my costume is Cher from Clueless. You ask why Cher? Well so I could say "Its an Alaia", of course.  We all know that I am obsessed with Mr. Azzedine Alaia the "King of Cling!" and this lovely dress is from a dear friends of mine private ALAIA collection...  I will introduce you to my dear friend soon!

A Chic Minimalist celebrates another year with all those dear be them friends or family! 

 The greatest gift is truly time spent with all those you hold dear and love, thank you for sharing in this special day with me, and making some truly remarkable memories to last a life time!

Thanks as well to all my friends who could not be here, for all the wonderful wishes and words of encouragement as another of my life begins.

LUSCIOUS LASHES WITH LANCOME-PARIS

Bonjour comment ca va?

I hope you are all having a lovely week. Cannot believe how fast mine is flying bye.  A little early this week perhaps, but could not wait to share something with you all! 

My new favourite companion is Lancome-Paris' Defincils mascara in noir since it creates gorgeous luscious lashes!  Ladies if you have sensitive eyes like myself it is highly recommended.  You will surely catch the attention of someone special with the luscious lashes this mascara so effortlessly creates!

A Chic Minimalist adores Paris Fashion Week of all the cities when show season is in full swing.  In particular it inspires and informs my personal style more so than any other city.

LA FEMME DE BALZAC'S

A Chic Minimalist is a lover of all things luxurious yet simple in design.  Balzac's Coffee Roasters is no exception, it is my favourite cafe with its bold yet classic coffee selection.  Balzac's is by far my favourite brand of coffee especially the Atwood and classic Balzac's blend.  Take a peek at the Balzac's Coffee Roasters website for a location near you!  Indeed, Balzac's brings the notion of a traditional style cafe to life. UPTOWN GIRL

A Chic Minimalist is an Uptown Girl exploring the downtown of a beautiful and charming small town. Weekends always call for a little adventure n'est pas?

NAUTICAL CHIC AND A CAFE LATTE

Spotted A Chic Minimalist indulging in her two addictions coffee and of course fashion!

  Perhaps I should create the tag confessions of a cafe-a-holic!  The first question could be along the lines, what do you put in your coffee? (not specifically the average Starbucks variety, but more along the lines of illy or a French press!)   Personally, the answer is simply two shots, one of honey and the other of lactose free milk and or almond milk.  Anyhow back to fashion, well being a fashion victim is more like! A CHIC ENSEMBLE AND CHIC CHAT

Happy Friday mes amies, its hard to imagine the summer is coming to a close, yet as a new fashion season quickly approaches its exciting to see how a wardrobe will change. While in the midst of transitioning my wardrobe, I found inspiration this week at Net-a-Porter.com.  Every week I tune in with anticipation to see what exciting new arrivals this on-line luxury retailer has to offer, and voila it came to me, Valentino's collection.  It was love at first sight as my "look" for this fall, especially in terms of colour draws inspiration from the current direction of this brand.  This season, my colour palette is focused around the  rich jewel tones of emerald green and ruby red in combination with my typical minimal chic shades of black, cream, white, and brown.  J'adore ca Valentino's Autumn-Winter 2012 as it is both modern and feminine with a touch of romance and Parisian chic.

IT'S NOT FASHION; IT'S A CHIC MINIMALIST

It's not fashion; it's simply A Chic Minimalist

I adore personal style and am not overly dictated by trends from the outside. It is all about building a wardrobe over time based on what suits your body through trial and error.  Ladies do not be afraid to experiment, it is only fashion you can always change if nothing is working.  You never know what you might find through a little test of a dress or pant. My personal style is minimal chic and I am unapologetic about the fact that I do not wear pants.  So go out and explore what inspires you in order to develop your own signature look. Indeed personal style is truly how you stand out from the fashion  not by having the latest or hottest covetable item.

A quintessential staple of my wardrobe are high waisted skirts and pencil dresses.  Perhaps you might take a style cue from these inspirational looks:

Also keep the make-up minimal with a little under eye concealer, facial moisturiser, and clear lip gloss. Just enough to be stunning and fresh in the morning.
